Picton
Picton is a picturesque small town and the gateway to the South Island. It is also the starting point of the beautiful Queen Charlotte Walkway, as well as various kayaking trips through the Marlborough and Queen Charlotte Sounds.
The town is well equipped for all of the visitors coming through from the ferry, with decent cafes as well as some craft galleries to wander through, and for those with a bit more time, Picton museum sheds light on the history of the port, which has formerly been both a Maori trading settlement and a whaling port.
