Travel along Lake Wakatipu, pass by lush farmland to Te Anau, known as “The Walking Capital of New Zealand” due to its proximity to such famous walking tracks like the Routeburn and the Milford (these are incredibly popular so need to be booked well in advance). After leaving Te Anau, drive along the incredible Milford Road, which passes by amazing geological features, untouched wilderness, and native wildlife. Hear about the amazing feat of construction that is the Homer tunnel, before arriving in Milford Sound and joining a cruise, which takes you deep into the Fiord and out to the open sea, before returning to Milford, arriving in Queenstown in the early evening.
