While you have your holiday of a lifetime in New Zealand why not add to this a meaningful volunteer project working directly with endangered Kiwi – New Zealand’s most famous native animal and national icon in a hands on conservation project designed to grow aid in breeding programs to ensure their survival.

Kiwi Encounter Volunteering Tours

Take a tour of the spectacular North Island of New Zealand by coach and train and you will experience all the beauty and adventure associated with this remarkable country. This is a 10 day package including 4 days volunteer work. This holiday will tick all the eco-friendly boxes.

If you’ve already brought your Magic pass – or you want the flexibility of just adding some volunteering work into your Magic journey around New Zealand then you can simply choose one of the below packages and add it to your booking

You volunteering tasks will be made up of the any of, but not always including, the tasks described below:

MAGIC FOREST KIWI ENCOUNTER VOLUNTEERING INCLUDES A SELECTION OF:

• Egg-to-Egg Kiwi encounters
• Interactive participation in Kiwi conservation project
• Learn Maori customs
• Visit a local Maori Marae (Meeting house)
• Install native wildlife tracking tunnels
• Building forest trails
• Native bird feeding and night count surveys
• Collecting and monitoring native seeds
• Planting and maintaining native tree seedlings

Please Note: Accommodation for these days will vary according to the nature of the volunteering work you are involved in. Accommodation costs ($30 per night) to be paid to the volunteer organisation on your first day of work.
