How It Works

It's simple! Just Hop-on and Hop-off anywhere on our New Zealand network.

From top to bottom, we run an extensive network of coaches that circulate around the highways and byways of New Zealand, taking in all there is to see and do. How much or how little of the network you utilise is up to you, what you want to see and the travel pass you buy. You can hop-off anywhere around that network, and get back on when the next bus comes through. Each travel pass has a minimum number of days it takes to complete and once you start your travel you’ve got up to 12 months to finish. Our friendly drivers also act as guides, offering help and advice when and where you need it to get the most out of your New Zealand travel.
 

You get access to the very best New Zealand has to offer with the ability to design your own trip and stay for as short or as long as you want with the security of knowing you have someone on hand to help with your travel plans, if you require it. Our driver guides are there for you, if you need them to book activities. Accommodation and onward travel arrangements can be booked on your MyMagic online journey planner.

The beauty of Magic is that you can decide where you want to go, what you want to do, where you want to do it and where you want to stay. You can plan a trip that takes you 1 day or 1 year, or you can throw plans out the window and take each day as it comes. The possibilities are endless.

Transport Only Pass

This is the original and completely flexible travel option allowing you total freedom to enjoy your hop-on, hop-off New Zealand adventure. With your Transport Only Pass in hand you choose where you want to go, when you want to do it, what you want to do and where you want to stay. We’ve got heaps of different pass options to choose from including national or single island passes. Absolute endless possibilities await for an unforgettable and hassle-free trip. Flexi Beds Package

This completely flexible travel option that provides you all the benefits of the Magic Transport Only Pass but with beds added on. Flexi Beds packages are ideal if you want the security of knowing you have paid for your accommodation and still want the flexibility to travel when and where you want. Choose from a great choice of nine different Transport Passes combined with 10, 14, 21 or 28 (pass dependent) pre-paid YHA hostel accommodation vouchers. We recommend you book this pass if you have a flexible itinerary, not specific travel dates.
 

Fixed Beds Package

If you are limited on time but still want to experience the best New Zealand has to offer, these Fixed Beds packages offer you the security of having your Magic trip pre-planned and pre-booked for you. Your fixed Magic Bus transport and pre-booked accommodation allows you to sit back, relax and enjoy a hassle free adventure.
